Surprise, Francis Breaks His Promise

So now we know what he is. Edgar (aka Eddie) is nothing more than the type of politician that gives politics a bad name.

Our "Mayor for life" acted in his usual typical fashion. In secret, afraid of the public, scared to be questioned about why he broke his promise.

I almost burst out laughing when I heard on the Eh-News broadcast last night at 11 p.m. that he had already announced his decision but that it was "embargoed" until 5 a.m. this morning.

No public press conference…just the urban legend to be spread by the Windsor Star this morning about how and why Edgar made his decision and listening to CKLW telling us that Edgar has already won the next election.

Heck, why hold an election at all? Since Edgar has really been crowned as the victor and since he ignores his Council colleagues, why waste all that money on democracy.

In passing, here is what my Google Alert said about the announcement with  a  Star story at  midnight:

""WINDSOR STAR EXCERPT DELETED BY REQUEST OF POSTMEDIA NETWORK INC. LEGAL DEPT.”

The alert was dated at 4:24 a.m. Take a look at what I also found on Google News, a Star story at  4:07 AM.

"WINDSOR STAR EXCERPT DELETED BY REQUEST OF POSTMEDIA NETWORK INC. LEGAL DEPT.”

That ought to be a clear message to the rest of the media about how they will be treated if the Mayor wins the next election.

Just remember though that Edgar has not yet upstaged Mike Hurst. There is a lot more to come between now and the closing date when election papers have to be filed. Just ask around and try to find out with whom Edgar left City Hall a week ago after the garbage outsourcing debate at about 1:45 a.m., long after everyone else had left.

Personally, I am disappointed he did not say "NO."  Naw, I still would have had a lot of  BLOGs to write about and in the end I always expected that he would run for  Mayor.  With no law firm set up to accept him, no completed projects to  make an investment  banker  have any  interest in his  P3  skills and with  failure after  failure, where  else could he get a job  paying  him almost  $200K per year and  unlimited travel.

What annoys me is the P.E.T. Blog I had written in my mind for a  "NO" statement.  Darn, it was a good one too!
